Therapeutic Massage

The benefits of therapeutic massage for health are far reaching. Receiving a massage is of course a pleasurable experience and brings about relaxation and relief from muscular tension, the benefits of which cannot be underestimated in a world with the high stress levels we now live in. Massage also increases circulation, moves the lymphatic fluids, affects muscle tone and stimulates our immune system. Viewed from a holistic perspective the health benefits and reduction of stress can be considered as a proactive approach to one’s overall health and not just the luxury of being pampered at a spa or being treated remedially for rehabilitation of injury. Massage is one of the few things in life that is both extraordinarily good for you and feels great during and after the session.

I practice therapeutic massage with a wholistic, integrative approach, which addresses the body and person as a whole rather than treating it as a set of isolated parts, taking into consideration the whole person at all levels – physical, emotional, mental and energetic.

At your first appointment there is a consultation and a medical history is taken, along with details of your current state of physical and emotional health, eating habits, lifestyle and work habits. A treatment plan is created, with the aim to deal with your current needs. As each person is unique in their needs each session is tailored to how you are at that present moment.

Sessions are given in my private studio space, which is a warm, comfortable and quiet environment. Soft music may be played to help you relax. Fragrance free hypoallergenic oils and creams are used.

Some of the physical benefits of massage include:

  • improves circulation
  • boosts the immune system
  • improves skin tone
